Guesting with Jellyfish

I am guest blogging today over at Dana Marie's Inspiration All Around Us blog. Every week, she posts a photo to inspire the Artist Within Us (naturally I'm intrigued). We then use that photo to creat some sort of art. In this case, I posted some sketches I made for sterling silver earrings.

Oh, and I have a thing for jellyfish.

Hi Matt, Happy New year. I am on holidays for two weeks. Just been down the beach with the kids gathering inspiration. I hope to be creating in full force next week. I didn't know you had a thing for jelly fish. Last year I exhibited at the Camberwell Rotary Art Show which is huge here in Victoria, Aus. Too big if you ask me! There was this awesome oil painter who painted these huge canvases of jelly fish with black backgrounds. Boy, did they look amazing. Very striking and breath taking.

Each of our capital cities has large aquariums with giant jellyfish in them, which I am assuming the inspiration came from. I am sure they have bigger and better in the US.Everything seems to be from what I remember from my trip over there in 2000.

Thanks for the Yahoo Groups Pastel Painters . I will check it out.
